'Picture This', the upcoming project from British actress Simone Ashley (known for her roles in 'Sex Education' and 'Bidgerton' season 2), shares first official trailer before hitting Amazon Prime Video in less than a month, on March 6.
Loosely based on the 2024 film by Shawn Seet, 'Five Blind Dates', the romantic comedy follows Pia (Ashley) after a spiritual guru at her sister's engagement party promises her that she will meet the love of her life in the next five guys she dates, and all the adventures this sends her into.
While 'Five Blind Dates' focuses around Chinese culture, with a Chinese-Australian protagonist, 'Picture This' takes the idea to a different part of the Asian diaspora, with a British-Indian family at the center of everything.
When it comes to romantic comedies there are not that many new things to do, so taking a simple idea and expanding on it, this time in a completely different cultural background where the characters struggle and approach relationships differently, can make for a really fun and entertaining piece of media.
Hero Fiennes Tiffin is playing the main love interest for Pia, one of the five dates that could be her perfect partner. Prarthana Mohan is directing the film, while writer Nikita Lalwani is behind the script, hitting Prime Video streaming services worlwide on March 6.
