The newest film by British filmmaker Alex Garland, alongside Ray Mendoza, 'Warfare' just had an exclusive premiere in the UK prior to the wide release this April 18, with a big part of the ensemble cast attending, including Kit Connor ('Heartstopper'), Joseph Quinn ('Stranger Things'), Will Poulter ('Black Mirror') and D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai who is leading the cast as Ray Mendoza, co-director and co-writer since the film is based on his experiences as a U.S. Navy SEAL.
The other cast members include notable actors like Cosmo Jarvis ('Shogun'), Michael Gandolfini ('Daredevil: Born Again'), Finn Bennett ('True Detective: Night Country'), Evan Holtzman ('Hit Man') who also were present in the 'Warfare' premiere and are doing a press tour alongside American actors Charles Melton ('May December'), Taylor John Smith ('The Outpost') and Noah Centineo ('The Fosters').
As you can see, it's quite a big ensemble full of recognizable names that have been growing more and more popular between the general public in recent years. The film will follow a mission of a U. S. Navy SEAL getting into insurgent territory in the Iraq war 2006, as told by Ray Mendoza himself.
The film has been quite controversial since some people online have been calling it propagandistic and tone deaf considering current political climate, despite that, the film currently holds a 93% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes with 40 reviews, and reviews by critics by The Time, The Telegraph and The Hollywood Reporter have been calling it one of the best movies in recent years for how it tackles these heavy topics.
The film will premiere this April 11 on the United States and the following week, April 18, will open in UK theaters, so make sure you grab your tickets and don't miss this amazing film.
