The Boys, the hit series created by Eric Kripke, is getting closer and closer to returning to Prime Video. With two years of suspense since its last season and a spin-off series (Gen V) that laid the groundwork for an impending battle between sides, the fourth installment promises to be truly explosive, doubling down on violence, acid humor and irreverent characters. In a recent interview, Jack Quaid (Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan's son who plays Hughie in the series) revealed that this season has been his favorite since its 2019 debut. At the same time, he acknowledged that the creative team has really outdone themselves and that fans can expect some real craziness for the season finale. “It's been really great. This is my favorite season. The writers have outdone themselves,” Quaid acknowledged.
“There are certain things in this season when I read them I was stunned. The truth is that I didn't expect a lot of things, and that's very difficult for someone who has been in the series for four seasons. The writers have outdone themselves. The ending is incredible. The ending is crazy. It's insane. I'm talking about The Boys, so I can swear by it,” added Hughie.
Over the course of three seasons, The Boys has been characterized by tackling issues such as fame, power, the media and society's double standards with an acid humor and explicit violence rarely seen on television. The series inspired by the comic books of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson follows a group of individuals who unite to fight against corrupt superheroes who abuse their powers and status.
The Boys will release its fourth season on Prime Video on June 13, so the wait will soon be over.
