Netflix has been dropping news for months about the long-awaited third season of its LGBTQ+ teen hit 'Heartstopper', one of its most popular titles in recent years. Recently, the streaming platform announced that the series would return in October, anticipating a more than appropriate fall premiere. And now, at last, we know what exact day we will be able to see the new episodes. This year, October 3 will not only be 'Mean Girls' day, but also 'Heartstopper' day, because that's the date Netflix has chosen for the return of the teen series based on the comic book by Alice Oseman.
The platform has announced it with a new clip in which we meet Kit Connor as Nick, Joe Locke as Charlie and Jenny Walser as Tori. The scene begins with Charlie figuring out how to say “I love you” to Nick and then getting advice from his sister on the subject. The clip ends with Nick arriving at Charlie's house looking totally summery (the series returns in the fall, but the episodes will have a summer setting) and the now classic greeting between them.
The preview also comes with a record release from one of Generation Z's biggest idols, Billie Eilish, in the form of an exclusive first listen to one of the tracks from her new album, 'Hit Me Hard and Soft', which goes on sale May 17. The song sounds great and the lyrics of the chorus couldn't be more appropriate for the scene and the series, “I'll love you till the day I die.”
The third batch of Heartstopper episodes will focus on the next step in the protagonist couple's relationship, as well as the changes and challenges they all face with the future just around the corner.
