Netflix just released on the streaming platform the British miniseries 'Adolescence', a technical masterpiece that has earned rave reviews from everyone who sees it, starring newcomer Owen Cooper in his debut role.
The miniseries, a crime drama about a 13 years old under investigation for the murder of a girl in his class, is receiving a lot of praise and commanding the actors for their great job filming something this challenging and tense with every episode being a one-shot-sequence from start to finish, adding a technical difficulty to the project.
'Adolescence' primarily focus on the process of interrigation of Jamie Miller (Cooper), as child psychologist Briony Ariston (Erin Doherty) tries to understand what happened and or if he did what the accusations say, going through themes of peer pressure, bullying, the rising incel culture corrupting young boys and many other important themes that teenagers face and people seem to not want to talk about it openly, or address how dangerous it can be.
Jack Thorne ('Enola Holmes', 'Tron: Ares') and Stephen Graham ('Boiling Point') are the creators and writers of the show, with Graham also playing Eddie Miller, Jamie's father, with Christine Tremarco playing his wife. Ashley Walters and Faye Marsay are also in the cast playing the authorities investigating the case.
It wouldn't be a surprise if we saw the show winning awards when it's time for the Emmys and Golden Globes, considering the acting talents behind and the press tour Netflix is doing. If you love crime dramas or any of these themes interest you, make sure you check it out on your free time
