After starting production back in 2023 amidst the SAG-AFTRA strike, the 'Toxic Town' first trailer finally hits the internet before premiering this 27th on Netflix.
Based on the real story of the Corby toxic waste case, the 4 episode miniseries starring British actress Jodie Whittaker (known for her role as Doctor Who), Aimee Lou Wood ('Skins', 'Game Of Thrones') and Claudia Jessie ('Bridgerton').
Jack Thorne is in charge of the writing for 'Toxic Town', previous collaborator with netflix for the 'Enola Holmes' films, and behind the script of the upcoming 'Tron; Ares'. The show seems to be a very emotional drama following the mothers of Corby, worried about their sick children and all that they went through in order to win a lawsuit for all the damage the people in charge of making the town "better" did to them.
A tale about corporational greed and the power of community, and what mother's love and determination can accomplish in order to protect their family.
Television director Minkie Spiro directs all episodes in the show, and they will be 60 minutes each, meaning this is perfect if you need something to binge watch on your couch on your rest day. It will be hitting the platform in three weeks, exactly on Thursday 27th.
