Bad news for fans of the Bat. The Batman Part II, starring Robert Pattinson, has officially delayed its release date, so it will no longer hit theaters on October 3, 2025 as previously scheduled. Due to an adjustment of its release schedule, Warner Bros., the company behind this long-awaited superhero film, also announced changes in the dates of other important productions. Thus, the new film saga of the character directed by Matt Reeves will not return until October 2, 2026.
Although the participation of the rest of the original cast, which in the first installment included Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell and Jeffrey Wright, is not yet official, but what it is, in fact, is that it will continue under Reeves' vision, who managed to give a breath of fresh air to the character in 2022. The first part was a major success at the worldwide box office, grossing $772 million on a budget of $180 million.
However, despite the bad news, fans will get a taste of The Batman universe this 2024. The Penguin series, a spin-off of the film, will bring back the figure of Oswald Cobblepot, played by Colin Farrell, and will delve into the power vacuum in Gotham after the fall of Carmine Falcone. The production, which kicked off in March 2023, had a break in June due to the actors' strike and resumed filming in December. With a cast that also includes names such as Cristin Milioti and Michael Kelly, the story promises to explore in depth the rise of the infamous villain. The project is being directed by Lauren LeFranc and Craig Zobel, with Farrell among the executive producers.
