Although video game adaptations have never aroused much enthusiasm among video game fans, with the adaptation of The Last of Us, HBO Max proved once again that it doesn't like to do things any old way. The series starring Pedro Pascal became a success thanks to its great audiovisual production. And it is precisely that quality that is causing the second season of the series to be delayed more than expected for the fans, added to the fact that both the scriptwriters and the Hollywood actors have been on strike until a month ago. But now fans of this universe full of mushrooms and zombies have a clue about the future of the series, as the showrunner, Craig Mazin, has already revealed the shooting start date.
During a meeting with screenwriters from different TV series organized by Variety, Mazin revealed that the second season of The Last of Us will start shooting on February 12, 2024. This seems to confirm that the series about the infected will not return to HBO Max until late 2024 or even early 2025. In recent months there have been several news reports claiming that The Last of Us would start filming its second season very soon, but it seems that only the words of Mazin, creator of the series along with Neil Druckmannn, are the most valuable since he is also the showrunner of the series.
On the other hand, one of the main doubts of the second season is how the creators will cover the character of Abby, one of the characters that least liked the frans of the franchise. This information is still unkown.
