HBO shares a new look at the upcoming 'The Last of Us' season 2, premiering on the streaming platform Max this April 13. With British actor Bella Ramsey returning for their role as Ellie, and Pedro Pascal as Joel Miller.
The second season has been in production since 2023, and after some delays with the SAG-AFTRA strike the casting took a little too long, but in the end everything came along perfectly for this second season, with some new faces joining the project as some of the most iconic characters in the video game.
Kaitlyn Dever ('Booksmart') is playing Abby, one of the antagonists this time, and the casting has been quite controversial since the character is a buff and muscular woman and Dever did not meet those requirements for the fans online.
Isabela Merced ('Alien: Romulus') is also joining as Dina, Ellie's love interest, and we can see a little bit of them together in this new trailer. Young Mazino ('BEEF'), Danny Ramirez ('NOPE') and Golden Globe winning actress Catherine O'Hara are also joining the season, alongside many other actors.
This time we'll be getting to know a lot of new characters, even for the game fans, since the screenwriters have decided to add some original characters to the series.
If you haven't seen the critically acclaimed first season yet, you still have a couple of months until April 13, so make sure to tune in before that and you can live the hype when this comes out.
