Netflix is developing the script for Enola Holmes 3, which will continue the successful saga starring Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill. Collider confirmed the news, indicating that the streaming platform is working on the expansion of this intellectual property. The second installment of this upcoming trilogy left several narrative threads open, promising more adventures on the horizon for the young detective and her distinguished brother.
In an exclusive interview, Netflix boss Scott Stuber spoke about young Brown's current career and confirmed plans for a third part: "You know, she's a huge local star for us. I mean, obviously, Stranger Things is huge for us in that, and watching her grow as an actress." To that he added: "Warner Bros. did an amazing job with Downey and Jude Law, so this idea that we can expand that IP with her is exciting. So we're working again on a script to try to make it happen."
As such, according to Stuber's statement, the film is still at an early stage, with the script currently in deveploment. However, this news brings great anticipation following the success of Enola Holmes 2, and the return of Brown and Cavill appears to be a strategic move by Netflix to maintain interest in the franchise; especially after Henry's dramatic exit from The Witcher series.
The specific plot of Enola Holmes 3 has not yet been revealed, but it is expected to follow the events of the second film, where Enola establishes her own detective agency in London and declares her love for Tewksbury (Louis Partridge). Meanwhile, Sherlock had to face new challenges with his flatmate, Dr. John Watson (Himesh Patel), and his adversary Moriarty (Sharon Duncan-Brewster) loosd in the city.
