The trailer for All of us Strangers is now available and connoisseurs of this passionate and mysterious story can finally enjoy a wider look at this adaptation that promises to be one of the most exciting LGBT films of the year. Andrew Haigh is the filmmaker and who transfers the magic of Taichi Yamada's Japanese novel Strangers to the big screen with Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal in the lead roles.
The trailer introduces viewers to the relationship between two men whose emotions immediately jump out and form a romance as flamboyant as it is enigmatic. Mescal brings Harry to life; while, Scott plays Adam, a screenwriter. The plot centers on the evolution of their relationship and a mysterious discovery the latter makes upon returning to his childhood home: his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell), who were supposedly dead decades ago, now seem to be alive.
Andrew Haigh, known for his work on films such as Weekend and Lean on Pete, directs this film. In fact, Haigh has stated that this is one of his most personal works to date. It is worth noting that the feature film was present at the New York Film Festival, the Telluride Film Festival, the BFI London Film Festival and the Austin Film Festival, where it was well received by audiences and critics alike. All of us Strangers has many compliments for its focus on the emotional and romantic, as well as for its successful scenes of intimacy between the main characters, where the performances of Scott and Mescal, who have already demonstrated that they are capable of leading stories of this genre in front of the cameras, stand out.
All of Us Strangers will hit theaters on December 22 in the United States.
