Netflix finally shares a first look at the third installment in the overwhelmingly loved 'Knives Out' series, 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery', after 3 years of the first announcement, at the "Next on Netflix" event for 2025.
The second movie for this saga, 'Glass Onion', came out in 2022 with a short theatrical release before hitting Netflix, who is the main producer of the films, with Rian Johnson both writing and directing while Daniel Craig stars as Benoit Blanc, the prolific detective at the center of this new universe.
Just like the past movies, it will work as an ensemble cast, with a whole new bunch of characters getting into trouble and them calling Benoit Blanc to solve whatever mystery is going on. This time, for 'Wake Up Dead Man', they are going above and beyond with the casting with accomplished actors like Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott and Mila Kunis, while adding some up and coming talents like Josh O'Connor, Cailee Spaeny and Daryl McCormack.
Details about the plot are not many, of course, considering this is a whodunnit and the mystery is a big part of this, but in the first look we can confirm that Josh O'Connor is playing a priest, and according to the little details we know, this will be the most dangerous case Benoit has taken yet.
The movie is releasing this fall, probably with the same model as 'Glass Onion', meaning it will have a short theatrical release before hitting Netflix's catalogue.
