As announced a few weeks ago, Zack Snyder unveiled the full trailer for Rebel Moon, his new collaboration with Netflix at Gamescom ONL. This sci-fi epic inspired by Akira Kurosawa's The Seven Samurai and the Star Wars saga, will have two parts whose premieres will be on December 22, 2023 and April 24, 2024, respectively. The trailer teases that Rebel Moon will be a big gamble for Snyder-signed production values and a star-studded cast that includes Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Ray Fisher and Anthony Hopkins.
"A peaceful colony in the far reaches of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. Desperate civilians send Kora, a young woman with a mysterious past, to seek out warriors from nearby planets to help them defy the regent," the official synopsis of Rebel Moon previews.
In fact, Rebel Moon generates quite a bit of interest for both Zack and Netflix. Still, according to his recent statements, in addition to the two movies already revealed, there has been talk of sequels and even a TV series. As if that wasn't enough, at Gamescom's Opening Night Live, the director also announced the expansion of the universe to the world of video games, although we still don't have details of consoles or release date.
Many people are looking forward to this movie from Zack, both fans of his DC Comics work and Star Wars fans. In addition, there is no doubt that the film will generate a lot of revenue for Netflix. Rebel Moon will obviously be one of the best science fiction films of the year.
