Illumination, responsible for such fun movies such as Despicable Me (2010) and Minions (2015) it is actually working
with Nintendo to adapt 'Super Mario Bros.'
The franchise already had a movie in the past, which was not a success at all.
However, both Illumination and Nintendo want to leave that behind and create a fun cinematic production.
There are many doubts about the project that will arrive in 2022.
One of them is around Chris Pratt, about whether or not he will have the character's famous Italian accent.
Thus, Chris Meledandri, producer of the adaptation and CEO of Illumination, was the one who cleared the doubt.
"All I can say is that the voice that Chris Pratt is doing for Mario and us is phenomenal.
I can't wait for people to be able to hear." "Mind you, as an Italian-American myself, I understand the comments."
Thus, it has been confirmed that references to Italy are on the table and, and of course, we will hear the
protagonist shout, "It's me, Mario."
Therefore, even if the accent is lost, there is no doubt that it will be a production of excellent quality.
And for sure, the Japanese company Nintendo is very attentive to the latter.
In fact: The voice actor of the Mario video games, the legendary Charles Martinet, will make a cameo in the film
but will not play any main character.
Finally, the Super Mario movie will hit theaters on December 21, 2022.
And in addition to Meledandri's Ceo, the creator of the famous video game, Shigeru Miyamoto, will
also be a producer of the film.
