British actor Tom Hiddleston stars in TIFF 2024 "People's Choice Award" winner 'The Life of Chuck' by writer and director Mike Flanagan ('Hush', 'The Haunting of Hill House'), an adaptation of the homonymous novel by Stephen King.
The first screening was back in 2024 at the Toronto International Film Festival and despite the great reviews it received with an 85% of positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, deals for distribution or any type of promotion haven been slow, with just Neon owning the rights to distribute the film in the United States with a premire date for June 6, 2025.
We hope that we can get an international release date close to that, but at the moment the only promotional material for the film is the new official poster, with not even a trailer yet. But with Flanagan's comments about the poster, and that a couple of people have seen the teaser playing in theaters before 'Mickey17', the trailer might be closer than we think.
Tom Hiddleston is our main character, a simple accountant by the name of Charles "Chuck" Krantz, but he's not the only one that will be playing the character, with young actors Jacob Tremblay, Bejamin Pajak and Cody Flanagan all playing different iterations of the character.
Chiwetel Ejiofor stars as Marty, a man visiting his ex-wife that starts noticing Chuck's face everywhere, as the fabric of reality starts to crumble right before his very eyes, while Nick Offerman will be the narrator of this science fiction surreal tale.
Karen Gillan, Mark Hamill, Kate Siegel and Matthew Lillard are also a part of the cast, with many other actors, since the film will have a lot of characters close to Chuck reacting to the world's end.
The story, told in reverse, will consist of three acts and will start at the end of the world, before exploring the events leading up to that moment. There's a lot of fake trailers going around now, but not anything official yet. We'll have to stay tuned for that.
