'HALF MAN' a new series by Richard Gadd coming to us following the overwhelming success of 'Baby Reindeer'.
After winning multiple awards and being lauded by the public for its ways of handling serious topics about men's mental health and struggles, it's not a surprise that Gadd is keeping himself busy for the upcoming years.
The news about the first project following his breakthrough are out, with Gadd being the writer, main actor and executive producer as well.
Despite his previous show being a Netflix hit, HBO and the BBC were faster when picking up the rights of production for the 'HALF MAN' and got a taste of Gadd talents before he signed a multi-year deal with Netflix.
We still don't know many details, but we do know that it's starting producting in early 2025 starring British actor Jamie Bell and the forementioned Richard Gadd, and what it's gonna be about.
'HALF MAN' follows the complicated relationship of two "brothers" (we still don't know what the quotes mean either). Niall (Bell) and Ruben (Gadd), that meet face to face after years of their falling out. The series pretends to follow all the years of their complicated relationship, since they meet to the present time when they are violently fighting each other.
For what we know, Gadd is not intending to change his ways or his approach to writing, following some of the themes he explores with 'Baby Reindeer' about masculinity and mental health, focusing this new script around the main question "What does it mean to be a man?"
It's too early to have a trailer or a poster ready for your enjoyment, but we the little things we know, it's more than enough to get excited for this project that we'll probably be seeing by mid 2025. Of course we're gonna be updating on what we know, you don't even have to ask.
Do you think it's gonna be as emotional and challenging for the audience as 'Baby Reindeer'?
