Britney Spears' "The Woman in Me", the book that reviews her life, had an incredible journey of success after its release back in 2023. Considering this, she decided to take her story a step further by adapting it for the big screen, since, as she mentions, she's working with reputable film producer Marc Platt whose work includes the upcoming Wicked.
The singer wrote on her Twitter account, surprising her fans all over the world: "Excited to share with my fans that I've been working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt. He's always made my favorite movies... stay tuned".
Apparently, the film idea appears after learning that Universal Pictures bought the rights to the autobiography that came out back in 2023. In addition, the film project would be in charge of Jon M. Chu, although no details about the cast or other crew members are out yet. Fans have long awaited this project, and their wishes are now happening.
Britney Spears’ memoir has become a bestseller, surpassing 2.5 million copies sold. In her candid book, the pop icon delves deep into her personal life, from her early days on the Mickey Mouse Club to her tumultuous relationship with Justin Timberlake. Britney also exposes the manipulative actions and cruel behavior of her father.
The publication mentions complex stories she went through, such as when she went across a pregnancy interruption under pressure of Justin Timberlake during their relationship. "I didn't know this book was going to be so important". While it may offend some, it helped me heal wounds for a better future. I hope to enlighten those who are lonely, hurting or misunderstood," Britney says.
