Jeffrey Wright joins 'The Last of Us' Season 2.

The second season of the acclaimed series 'The Last of Us' continues to add prominent names to its cast. HBO has confirmed that actor Jeffrey Wright will join the cast, reprising his role as a character he previously played in the video game 'The Last of Us: Part II', in 2020. The first season of the series starring Pedro Pascal as Joel Miller and Bella Ramsey as Ellie Williams, adapted the acclaimed 2013 video game to great acclaim. The series features a post-apocalyptic world where the protagonists must survive zombies infected by a parasitic fungus, as well as other human dangers such as mercenaries and cannibals. The second season will follow the events of 'The Last of Us Part II', exploring the consequences of Joel's decisions.

Jeffrey Wright is a prominent American actor, recipient of a Primetime Emmy Award, a Tony Award and a Golden Globe Award, in addition to having been nominated for an Academy Award. He began his career in the theater, gaining notoriety for his role in “Angels in America,” for which he won a Tony.

Jeffrey Wright will play Isaac, the quietly powerful leader of a large militia who, in his quest for freedom, finds himself trapped in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy. This role is one of the most anticipated by fans of the video game, given his character's impact on the plot.

The second season cast includes Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Rutina Wesley as Maria, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, and Kaitlyn Dever as antagonist Abby Anderson, among others. Catherine O'Hara also joins the cast in an undisclosed role.
