Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom will be the last film in the DC Universe since James Gunn and Peter Safran planned to reset the saga. Since then, numerous rumors have circulated about the film and the superhero played by Jason Momoa. There was talk about whether or not it would have to do with the new DCU, whether it would have a third sequel and even whether it would hit the big screen after numerous changes and reshoots.
After these precedents, the company has kept absolute silence for many months. But now, at last, it seems that Warner Bros. has the film ready, and has begun to promote it. Thus, the studio has released a first preview, a brief teaser of just 30 seconds in which the main characters of the project are presented. The first and most prominent, obviously, is Momoa's Aquaman. The superhero is now the king of Atlantis and his duty is to protect his people.
The villain he will have to face this time will be Black Manta, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The character already appeared in the first installment and in Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom he returns in search of revenge. "I'm going to kill Aquaman and destroy everything he cares about," sentences the emboldened antagonist in the teaser. Moments later, the hero's father's house appears in flames, and Momoa and Abdul-Mateen II's characters begin their inevitable battle. The others actors of Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom are Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Temuera Morrison and, above all, Amber Heard. The actress has suffered a boycott in recent years because of her legal problems with her ex-husband Johnny Depp. However, Warner Bros. and DC have kept her on as Mera.
