Taylor Swift can't get enough of her successful career in the music world. Variety has confirmed that the 32-year-old has written and will direct a film with Searchlight Pictures. It is an independent Disney studio which is behind the production of feature films such as The Shape of Water, Jojo Rabbit, The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Menu, among others.
Although Taylor has directed some of her music videos in the past, including All Too Well: The Short Film, this will be her first time directing in the big time. With the project, Swift will make her debut not only as a director but also as an original screenwriter on a feature film that will presumably be available in theaters. In fact, Searchlight Pictures has not yet released any details about the project, which includes the singer. No information is known at this time about the project, such as which actors will be in the film or the possible release date for Swift's debut.
However, Searchlight Pictures presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield have made it known how happy they are to be collaborating with one of the artists of the moment, “Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey,” said Searchlight presidents.
Taylor Swift already has plenty of experience in the field of directing. The artist has directed her own music videos such as 'The Man'. However, her most popular work as a director is All Too Well: The Short Film. In fact, she won many awards due to her work as a director in the music video.
