Zendaya breaks records once again in the history of the Emmys. At just 25 years old, the artist has broken Emmy Award records. The first time she broke a record as the youngest woman in history to receive a Best Actress award in a series and this year was no exception.
This year she became the youngest woman to be nominated as an executive producer at the Emmys. In addition to being nominated again in the Best Actress category for Euphoria. In total, Zendaya earned four total nominations at the Emmys announced today.
For those who follow the series, these nominations come as no surprise. Since the actress was spectacular in the episodes of the second season. Especially in the episode five called Stand Still Like the Hummingbird where for 54 minutes, the actress performs a frantic escape that concludes in one of Euphoria's darkest moments.
'It was so intense and terrifying to tackle, and obviously something that would be incredibly draining emotionally, but also physically. Besides, I care about Rue and hate it when she suffers.'
Zendaya told EW about her performance.
But the nominations doesn't stop here. Euphoria is nominated for Best Drama Series and in that category enters the California actress as both executive producer and lead. Something never seen before.
In addition, she is now the first black woman (and the second black person) in being nominate for Best Actress and Best Songwriting. Sydney Sweeney is also nominate in the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and notonly for Euphoria, but also for The White Lotus.
In total Euphoria earned 16 2022 Emmy Award nominations, including in Best Drama Series. It is one of HBO's most nominated series this year, followedby Succession which garnered 25 Emmy nominations.
