Ed Sheeran has revealed new details about his highly anticipated collaboration with music legend Elton John.
According to the author of 'Bad Habits' in a talk with Dutch radio station NPO Radio 2, it will be titled Merry Christmas.
In fact, the song will be available on all platforms on Friday, December 2nd.
"Elton called me on Christmas Day to congratulate me. Elton always calls me almost every day," noted Sheeran.
The musician claims that John called him to share the news about his song "Step in Christmas," which was
in sixth place in popularity.
So he proposed to make a new song for the Christmas season."
Ed has revealed the release date of this new song through his social networks using a video inspired
by the romantic comedy 'Love Actually.' A classic for the Christmas season.
"Last Christmas I've received a call from my mate Elton John, and he told me we should do a Christmas Song.
"And I replied 'Yeah, maybe in 2022' But I actually wrote the chorus that day, and here we are.
Our Christmas song 'Marry Christmas' Is out this Friday.
It has sleigh bells, a lot of them." Sheeran noted through his special teaser.
Indeed, besides the fact that the song will undoubtedly be a hit on the platforms, all the money raised by
the piece is earmarked for two functions: Ed Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation and the Elton John Aids Foundation.
The first seeks to help 18-year-olds gain access to music education despite their circumstances.
The second aims to help end AIDS and raise awareness of HIV.
The song is still a few days away, but everything points to it being a hit this Christmas season.
