Britney Spears returns to music for the first time after winning the court battle against her father. The return of the pop princess comes with the help of the British Elton John. The two have premiered the song 'Hold Me Closer' which is now available on all platforms. The track draws on the chorus and verses of two Elton John classics, Tiny Dancer and The One, and a dash of Don't Go Breaking My Heart. In fact, John has collaborated in recent times with other renowned artists such as Dua Lipa or Lady Gaga. Spears' comeback for this duo happens six years after her last work, the album Glory, released in 2016.
Like all her fans, Brinety is immensely excited about her new song and to be back. The artist was quick to express her excitement on her Twitter account. "It’s pretty damn cool that I’m singing with one of the most classic men of our time. I’m kinda overwhelmed… it’s a big deal to me !!! I’m meditating more and learning my space is valuable and precious !!!" Britney wrote, referring to her musical collaboration. In addition, she also wrote "I tell myself every day to let go of the hurt bitterness and try to forgive myself and others to what may have been hurtful."
Hold Me Closer sounds almost like a disco song from the seventies, another track that reclaims a period where the mirror ball reigned supreme. In fact, it's already a trend among today's pop stars: just listen to the new albums of Beyoncé, Dua Lipa or The Weeknd. In addition, on Hold Me Closer they both sing, but it sounds uniform, as if it were really just one vocalist.
