Apple TV+ has been working for some years in a TV adaptation of the best selling science fiction classic 'Neuromancer', with British actor Callum Turner leading as Case, our main character.
The novel follows a former hacker going back to business in exchange for the cure he needs, but in order to get what he wants, he needs to succeed in a dangerous mission.
Ever since it was greenlit back in 2024, with TV writer Graham Roland serving as producer and showrunner, as well as main writer, and filmmaker J. D. Dillard as co-showrunner, and director of at least the pilot episode, we've been hearing some news about the casting process semi-regularly, with the first one being Turner as Case, the most important character.
Right after Callum Turner, American actress and singer Briana Middleton ('Sharper') joins in as Molly, a mercenary working closely with our lead. Joseph Lee ('Beef'), British actor Mark Strong ('Kingsman') and more recently French actress Clémence Poésy ('TENET') are the other announcements we know of at the moment, and with all of them joining in quick succession, it's possible that production for the series might start this year.
In addition to Apple Studios, Anonymous Content, Skydance Television and DreamCrew Entertainment are also producing, and although we don't have any idea of the budget for the series, considering it's a dystopian cyberpunk setting, they might throw the house out the window and go all out for this adaptation.
Specially with 'Neuromancer' being such an awarded and loved intellectual property.
