'The Monkey': What we know about the Stephen King adaptation

Starring British actor Theo James as twins Hal and Bill, 'The Monkey' will be in theaters early 2025, exactly in February 21st. Adapting the famous 1980's horror story by Stephen King and with Osgood Perkins behind directing and writing, we're hoping this will be the Stephen King adaptation to break the pattern.

In recent years, although most of King's work is a hit, when it comes to selling the rights and getting a live action adaptation, there's always something that goes sideways or ends up not living up to the expectations of the fans and readers. Most of them famous and a box office success but with mixed or negative feelings when it comes to reviews.

'The Monkey' is one of those emblematic stories that you've seen directly or referenced elsewhere at least once in your life, and with Osgood Perkins and NEON behind it ('LONGLEGS') we can expect an striking piece of media that can leave up to the feverish vision and aura that the story has.

Tatiana Maslany and Elijah Wood are amongst the cast of stars bringing life to this adaptation, with other great names involved, and a confusing first trailer that leaves you at the edge of your seat with dream-like imagery and little answers about the monkey or the supernatural happenings of this weird slasher.
