The long-awaited Marvel Cinematic Universe film, 'Deadpool and Wolverine' has an R according to Motion Pictures Assosiation (MPA). Being, after 15 years, the first Marvel movie to obtain this rating, announcing it as “Uncensored and with a lot of violence”. In a statement, the MPA gave the film an R rating due to the “extreme and bloody violence” depicted in the film, as well as the “vulgar language, gore and sexual references” in the film.
This feature film will only for adult audience, 18 years and older. Featuring the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine on July 25 in all theaters. However, the director in charge of this film, Shawn Levy assured that Disney and Marvel Studios did not put restrictions for the development of the film.
In fact, February saw the release of the official Deadpool and Wolverine trailer, which became the most watched trailer of all time with 365 million views in its first 24 hours. The trailer, which was released on Sunday during the Super Bowl celebration, surpassed the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), which accumulated 355 million views on its first day.
In the teaser, the irreverent Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) is celebrating his birthday as Wade Wilson, seemingly retired from his antihero wanderings. “Marvel's Jesus Christ”, as he calls himself, is the protagonist of these first images, in which only the shadow of Wolverine (Hugh Jakcman) and a couple of seconds of his back appear.
This will be the third film that Ryan Reynolds stars in as Deadpool, although he played the character for the first time in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, as part of a team to try to hunt down the clawed hero.
