Paul Mescal, known for his outstanding performance in the series Normal People, is one of the favourite actors to play one of the legendary Beatles in the upcoming biopics directed by Sam Mendes. In fact, according to 'The Hollywood Reporter', Paul Mescal would be one of the 'fab four' in the films of 'The Beatles' and the actor is already in talks to be the first selected in the cast for the tetralogy of the legendary band from Liverpool.
Sam Mendes, acclaimed director of such films as American Beauty, Skyfall and 1917, is working on an ambitious project consisting of a saga of four biographical films about The Beatles. Obviously, each film will focus on the life and perspective of one of the band members: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison. Indeed, this tetralogy has all the rights to the lives of The Beatles' members and the band's music catalog, promising a complete cinematic experience about the history of one of the most famous bands of all time.
These films aim to tell the story of The Beatles from a perspective never before seen on film. Each film will explore the life and career of a specific member of the band, from their humble beginnings to their rise to worldwide fame. Also, the films would address personal and professional aspects of each member, offering a unique, intimate and in-depth look at life in the most influential band in rock history.
Sam Mendes' The Beatles project was announced in February 2024, with Sony Pictures Entertainment collaborating with Neal Street Productions to create these films. Shooting on all four films would begin in 2025 in the UK, with a release date on 2027.
