Disney is in charge of many important productions, such as James Cameron's 'Avatar', which once again created records with the release of its sequel 'Avatar: The Way of Water'. The movie was a hit, and since its release, fans have been wondering how long it will last. James Cameron's saga is undoubtedly a success, and the next Avatar movies were to arrive soon, but Disney now has new plans and these are the following dates; 'Avatar 3' will hit theaters on December 19, 2025; 'Avatar 4' goes to December 21, 2029 and 'Avatar 5' to December 19, 2031. So Cameron's fans will have to be very patient.
These films are not the only ones that will arrive a little later as Marvel's proxy releases join them. 'Captain America: Brave New World' will move from May 3, 2024 to July 26, 2024, which in turn will delay 'Thunderbolts' to December 20, 2024, 'Blade' to February 14, 2025, 'Fantastic Four' to May 2, 2025. 'Avengers: Kang Dynasty' will be delayed a full year, from May 2, 2025 to May 1, 2026, taking the chair from 'Avengers: Secret Wars', which will jump from May 2, 2026 to May 7, 2027.
Alongside these delays is also the 'Moana' live action movie which will hit theaters on June 27, 2025, there is also 'Deadpool 3' which moves from November 8, 2024 to May 3, 2024. In addition, Disney will release a new Star Wars movie, but no one knows what it will be about, the movie will arrive on December 18, 2026.
Production delays are part of the reason behind the revised release schedule. The postponed shoots of 'Blade' and 'Thunderbolts' have caused a domino effect to which the writers' strike may have contributed.
