For some time now, Instagram has been making changes to its platform in order to compete with Tiktok. The platform has been making modifications to its feed. Now, it has given more priority to the Reels and has left aside the classic photos or videos. This, however, is not sitting well with some of the social network's most famous stars, such as two of the Kardashian sisters: Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, who have shared posts on their profiles lambasting the company and its intention to resemble the popular video app.
"Make Instagram Instagram again," could be read in the screenshot that Kylie Jenner, with more than 360 million followers on Instagram, shared via her stories. The publication also mentions the app's intention to resemble TikTok and the users' demand that this should not be the case. The original post has many likes from different users of the social network who share the same opinion. The post was also share by Kim Kardashian, one of the people with the most followers on Instagram, accumulating a total of 326 million at the moment. In fact, users have also opened a petition on Change.org, which has accumulated a large number of signatures.
Instagram has been trying for several months to look more and more like Tiktok every day and this is not something the company hides. Adam Mosseri, head of the platform, revealed a few months ago that his goal was to transform the entire app to prioritize short videos in vertical format, leaving aside the classic publications that have characterized the social network. Instagram's recommendation algorithm, in fact, shows more and more Reels in front of posts.
