Ed Sheeran is featured on 'Bam Bam', the newest single from Camila Cabello, yet again
another try of the artist to connect with her Latin roots in this newest era, with a track
heavily influenced by Salsa.
Ed Sheeran, as well as Camila Cabello, are known for having beautiful vocals, and beautiful music.
They are artists that somehow capture a feeling that the listeners can relate to in every song, no matter
if happy or sad, but although they are really good at evoking feelings with lyrics and voice, musically they
are not exactly gender-defying. Production-wise, Camila's and Ed's music are always expected,
maybe a few new elements, but a formulaic song at the end.
And it's not that following a formula it's implicitly bad, but it gets boring, to say the least, and with Camila Cabello
this whole tapping into her Latin roots is getting a little tired, especially because her most recent songs although
fun and animated, feel sometimes flat and boring, even soulless.
Kinda unbelievable thinking that you can turn boring a salsa song, such a lively and fun genre, even with
Ed Sheeran speaking Spanish on the track.
Either way, it's not something to make a thinkpiece about, just a quirky single made to appeal to broader audiences,
maybe become a hit. The reception has been pretty average as well, with Camila having much bigger opening weeks
with other singles, so let's see if the internet ends up loving it and making it viral or just forgets about it.
