Mission: Impossible 7 will have to wait a little longer for its premiere.
As well as Top Gun: Maverick, making this terrible news for actor Tom Cruise and his fans.
All of this is thanks to the widespread of the Covid-19 Delta Variant,
Which is making the number of contagious go up in several countries, including the U.S.
Thanks to that, Paramount, the studio producing the films,
Has decided to postpone both premiere dates for 2022.
Top Gun: Maverick had a premiere date set in the last trimester of 2021,
However, the date has moved to May 2022.
On the other hand, Mission: Impossible, the classic Tom Cruise film
Is currently underproduction of its seventh movie.
According to the studio, the actor is really pushing hard to film and have the movie ready.
Still, the widespread of this new variant has also affected the film
Sadly, this is not the first time that the filming of this movie has suffered,
As it has been stopped several times due to, once again, the pandemic.
Right now, the 7th movie in the Mission: Impossible universe is still filming in the UK
Which, luckily, has loosened its restrictions due to the successful vaccination programs.
The premiere was supposed to be in May 2022, however, the date
Is now September 2022.
Moreover, the next film in the Jackass Franchise is also suffering a delay in its premiere date
As the same studio is producing the said film.
Right now, this Delta Variant is affecting severely the film industry,
As the box office number, at least in the U.S, are way lower than expected.
During several months of this year, the tickets sales seemed to be doing okay
And there was hope for the cinema industry to recover after the tough year that was 2020.
