Zendaya Coleman has signed up for Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man reboot.
The actress will have a “key role” in the movie, although it’s not yet know if she will be romantically involved with Peter Parker –Tom Holland-.
According to Deadline: "Nobody is providing details on whether this is the romantic lead opposite Peter Parker, but it doesn't sound like it."
What's more, insiders told Variety that Zendaya had signed up to the movie, but insisted the star's character "is neither Parker's love interest nor a lead role".
But the singer is expected to have a "bigger part" in further instalments.
Zendaya rose to prominence after landing the lead role of Rocky Blue in the Disney Channel TV series 'Shake It Up' in 2010.
The Spider-Man role will be her first huge movie on the big screen after previously voicing a character in straight-to-DVD film 'Super Buddies' in 2013, and starring as herself in short film 'Close Up' last year.
Holland will make his debut as the superhero in the Joe and Anthony Russo-helmed 'Captain America: Civil War', which is produced by Marvel president Kevin Feige and set to drop in April in the UK.
The as-yet untitled Spider-Man movie is slated to be released on July 7, 2017.
