La Maquina: First Look at Hulu's next series

La Maquina is set to deliver a powerful storytelling about trauma, self sabotage and struggling. Hulu brings a thrilling exploration of the boxing world to viewers with its upcoming series, La Maquina. The show follows seasoned boxer Esteban "La Máquina" Osuna, a living legend as some may say, as he faces retirement. A potential championship title rekindles his competitive fire, but this opportunity comes with a dangerous price. Nevertheless, Osuna must navigate a perilous underworld while fighting for ultimate victory.

La Maquina will consist of six episodes, which took place primarily in Mexico and will be available on Hulu, marking the platform's first original Spanish-language production. Beyond that, the plot they will present is very interesting as they are presenting boxing (one of the sports with the most culture, tradition, and fandom in the country) as a starting point to tell the story of three characters whose lives change completely after a series of personal and professional events.

Gael García Bernal stars as the aging boxer alongside Diego Luna and Eiza González joining the star-studded cast in undisclosed roles. It means no secret that a plethora of Mexican talent is shining brightly in the world's major entertainment leagues, and these actors are undoubtedly prime examples of this. However, after several years of pursuing individual projects, we will finally see the three of them sharing the screen together in La Maquina.

So far, the series promises intense fight scenes and a deep dive into the psychological toll of boxing on athletes. In addition, La Maquina combines the excitement of boxing with a gripping and heart wrenching plotline. The series will make its debut on Hulu's platform on October 9th.
