Although Marvel is in full promotion of 'Deadpool and Wolverine', its only film bet of this 2024, the Multiverse machinery continues at full speed, so they have just released the first teaser of what will be their next film of Phase 5: 'Captain America: Brave New World'. Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, is now the new patriotic superhero taking over for Chris Evans. After he raises the iconic shield at the end of 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' to become a full-fledged Captain America, he will still face some reluctance. "You're not Steve Rogers," Thaddeus Ross, now played by Harrison Ford, the newly elected president of the United States, reminds him.
In the preview of just over a minute and a half we can see Thunderbolt, who debuted as a villain in 'The Incredible Hulk', in the White House turning to Sam Wilson to ask him to work for his government as a military arm, something that the new Captain America does not quite see clearly. However, before he can make a decision, an attempt is made on the president's life, forcing him to act.
The surprise comes at the end of the teaser, which shows a first glimpse of the Red Hulk. This being is none other than Thunderbolt Ross himself, who angrily grabs Captain America's shield and with a loud roar smashes it violently to the ground. Beyond Red Hulk, Giancarlo Esposito is also part of the teaser, in an as-yet-unknown role. The others actors are Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Shira Haas as Ruth aka Sabra and Liv Tyler as Betty Ross. Julius Onah, directs 'Captain America: Brave New World,' the penultimate film in Phase 5 of the MCU and will hit theaters on February 14, 2025.
