Sam Wilson picked up the baton from Steve Rogers as Captain America in the 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' series, whose title changed to 'Captain America and the Winter Soldier' once the character played by Anthony Mackie felt worthy enough to inherit the shield and, with it, his new superheroic identity. Following Chris Evans' retirement at the end of 'Avengers: Endgame', Mackie will be in charge of continuing his legacy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the fourth solo installment of one of Marvel's flagship superheroes, 'Captain America: Brave New World', which will hit theaters in 2025.
For now we do not have many details about the plot, but we have seen a few images, to which now adds a new photo that Mackie has shared on Instagram to celebrate the 4th of July, that is, Independence Day. The actor took to the social network to commemorate the patriotic date with a powerful behind-the-scenes image where we can appreciate in more detail the new Cap's suit that he will wear in the film.
According to rumors, 'Captain America: Brave New World' recently returned to set to shoot additional scenes. The reshoots reportedly took place over 22 days, according to The Hollywood Reporter's sources, three weeks that were used to add a mysterious new character, played by the iconic Giancarlo Esposito ('Breaking Bad', 'The Mandalorian'). The image shared by Mackie could belong to this second shooting, although there is nothing official about it.
Joining Mackie in his first film as the lead in the UCM will be Harrison Ford, who replaces William Hurt as Thaddeus Ross, Carl Lumbly, who returns as Isaiah Bradley, and Danny Ramirez, who returns as Joaquin Torres, the new Falcon.
