Ishana Night Shyamalan, the daughter of the well-known filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, will release this summer her first film as director: The Watchers, a horror thriller that has just released its first trailer from Warner Bros. Pictures. Ishana serves as director of the project, but also as screenwriter, based on the novel of the same name written by A.M. Shine. In fact, the film tells the story of Mina, a 28-year-old artist who gets trappe in a forest in the west of Ireland.
Mina will find a shelter, but unwittingly ends up locked up with three strangers who are stalked by mysterious creatures every night. "You can't see them, but they see everything," reads the official description of the teaser shared by Warner Bros. Pictures. M. Night Shyamalan is also part on the creation of The Watchers as a producer, along with Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad, as well as executive producers Jo Homewood and Stephen Dembitzer.
The cast of The Watchers is led by Dakota Fanning as Mina, with Hannah Dargan playing the younger version of the character. Also in the cast will be Olwen Fouéré as Madeline, and Georgina Campbell in a role that still no one knows. Rounding out the cast of Ishana Shyamalan's film are: Siobhan Hewlett as Mina's mother, Alistair Brammer as John, Hannah Howland as Chloe, Oliver Finnegan as Daniel, Shane O'Regan as Collin, Anthony Morris as Burke, Jacob Greenway as Jordan, Charles Mann as Romeo, Charles Camrose as Conor, and Kya Brame as Georgia.
Ishana Shyamalan's The Watchers will hit theaters in July 7, 2024.
