Bad Bunny is suffering a lawsuit that could cost him dearly if he loses it. Currently, the singer's ex-girlfriend is suing him for using her voice on two occasions. In fact, the lawsuit is for a total of 40 million dollars. Carliz De La Cruz Hernández, whose sultry recording of "Bad Bunny, baby" was included in two of the artist's songs, claimed in a lawsuit filed this month in Puerto Rico that her voice and the phrase she invented are being used without her permission.
The lawsuit indicates that the phrase "Bad Bunny, Baby" is in the song "Pa' ti" which so far accumulates a total of 355 million views on Youtube while on Spotify it has 235 million plays. In addition, the second song where the artist used the recording is 'Dos mil 16', on his album 'Un Verano sin ti', which has more than 60 million views on YouTube and 280 million plays on Spotify. The plaintiff further states that "the distinguishable voice' has not only in the song without her consent, but also on records, tours, television, radio, and social and music platforms.
"Since then, thousands of people comment directly on Carliz's social networks, as well as every time he goes to any public place, about the 'Bad Bunny Baby'. The above, has caused, and currently causes, De La Cruz to feel worried, distressed, intimidated, overwhelmed and anxious," the plaintiff states. In addition to Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Martínez Ocasio, Noah Kamil Assad Byrne, his manager, is also in the lawsuit.
Bad Bunny is facing a difficult part of his career right now, which could get worse.
