The 94th Oscars will be held this year.
The awards will take place next Sunday, March 27 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, and once again will be hosted.
And now, what everyone is wondering: who will host the 94th Oscars?
The 90th edition, held in 2018, was the last to feature a host.
On that occasion, the ceremony was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
One of the possible candidates is the actor, Tom Holland.
Following the announcement that the 2022 Oscars will have a presenter, THR reported that the
Hollywood Film Academy had contacted the actor to explore the possibility.
In addition, Holland had made clear in an interview his interest in being the gala's master of ceremonies.
On the other hand, the comedian Pete Davidson is another possible candidate.
Page Six reported that the actor's team "is talking to producers."
According to media reports, Davidson could attract a younger audience and increase the gala's viewership.
The actor is part of the cast of Saturday Night Live and has appeared in films such as
The Suicide Squad and The King of Staten Island.
However, Craig Erwich, president of ABC Entertainment (the network in charge of broadcasting the Oscars)
seems to have other plans in mind.
Erwich, also head of content for streaming platform Hulu has said he has the "Only Murders in the Building" trio in his sights.
Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selena Gomez star in the series.
So far, the performance of all three has been highly praised.
So, with all this popularity and recognition, why not have them host the Oscars?
Although it is a very tempting idea for Craig Erwich, as he stated in an interview with Variety, the executive
clarified that several names are being reviewed for the role of master of ceremonies.
