The bad news doesn't stop for 30-year-old Travis Scott.
Now, Dior has decided to postpone its collaboration with the rapper named Cactus Jack.
All this after the tragic event of the Astroworld music festival led by Scott, on November 5.
The firm issued a statement through Women's Wear Daily clarifying the reason for its decision
on the last day of 2021.
"Out of respect for everyone affected by the tragic events at Astroworld, Dior has decided to postpone
indefinitely the launch of products from the Cactus Jack collaboration originally intended to be included in its
summer 2022 collection."
A source close to the Dior house told People magazine that it was a mutual decision, that is, between
the brand and Travis.
However, it is not the end of a contract.
The rapper teamed up with Dior creative director Kim Jones on
Scott's self-titled men's collection Cactus Jack Records.
The collaboration would launch in January 2022, but Dior made the decision at the last minute out of empathy
for the victims and their families.
As if that were not enough, Nike also marked his distance with Scott.
It is work mentioning that the music festival left 10 dead and almost 300 people injured.
Reason enough for the sportswear firm to take the decision on November 15 to delay the launch
of the Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack tennis shoes, due to the same situation.
This tennis collection was thought to launch on December 16, the perfect date for year-end purchases.
Anheuser-Busch also confirmed that it has discontinued Cacti by Scott drinks.
Lastly, Travis Scott was removed from the Coachella 2022 lineup.
In a recent interview, Travis said he will not act again until '100 percent safety of the people is covered.'
