After several days of deliberations, a Los Angeles jury on Friday found Canadian rapper Tory Lanez guilty on all three charges against him in connection with firing a gun at rapper Megan Thee Stallion. The three charges for which he was convicted were: felony negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm. Now, because of his negligence, Tory faces more than 22 years in prison, to be will be determinate during sentencing at a later date. However, prison is not the only thing that awaits him. In fact, different sources confirm that the rapper may have to leave the country.
According to Meghann Cuniff, senior West Coast reporter for Law & Crime, after the jury's verdict, Tory Lanez's father stood up and shouted. "This is a wicked system!". The reporter added that the man yelled at the prosecutors that they are evil and know exactly what they did here. On the other hand, the rapper's stepmother stood up and started screaming. Cuniff also reported that Tory Lanez was take to jail at the scene and taken into custody at that time.
According to Megan Thee Stallion's testimony, after a Kylie Jenner party, she got into a van with the Canadian, after getting out of the car, she said she saw Tory with the gun, and explained that she remembers him shooting at her from his Cadillac Escalade, claiming that he yelled, "Dance, bitch!". The star also testified that Tory offered her $1 million to keep quiet about the incident, TMZ reported. Although there were several witnesses at the trial, the jury focused on the testimony of Megan and her former best friend Kelsey.
