Whoopi Goldberg tested positive for Covid-19.
This was revealed this Monday by her partner on the program "The View," Joy Behar.
"Why am I here instead of Whoopi?" Wrote co-host Behar on social media.
"Whoopi, unfortunately, tasted positive over the holidays, but will probably be back next week.
Symptoms have been very, very mild, but we are being cautious in The View."
This Monday's show, which was held virtually from the driver's home, featured drivers Sunny Hostin
and Sara Haines, while no one was hired to replace Goldberg.
Additionally, the show hosts shared how Covid-19 and the Omicron variant disrupted
their winter vacation plans.
Anna Navarro said her idea of hosting more than 20 members of her family for the holidays and her birthday
had to change when her father tested positive.
Haines added that after taking a pre-vacation trip with her two older
children to Florida and "doing well," she returned home with a "husband who tested positive
for Covid."
After Haines and her children were quarantined at home, she tested negative four times, and her
husband is now virus-free.
For her part, Behar said she had a "pretty decent size" Christmas party planned
But decided to cancel it as a precaution.
Meanwhile, Hostin, who lost her two in-laws to Covid-19 in late 2020 and early 2021, spoke about
her "sad" vacation after testing positive and having to spend Christmas and New Year online
with her husband ad Children.
In addition, his mother also tested positive.
"I am very grateful to have been vaccinated and boosted because I only had symptoms similar
to those of a cold," she shared. "But I didn't feel very good."
