Johnny Depp has given his first public interview since his dramatic separation from Amber Heard.
The actor joined his Hollywood Vampires bandmates Matt Sorum, Bruce Within and Robert DeLeo for a chat on the Jonesy’s Jukebox radio show over the weekend.
However, the 53-year-old star made no mention about the drama surrounding his impending divorce from 30-year-old Amber, which has seen her take a restraining order out him after accusing him of physical and verbal abuse.
Instead Depp went on to speak fondly about being a musician and how he started playing when he was very young.
He said: "I’ve [been a musician] since I was little – since I was 12 I’ve played. I started playing clubs when I was like 13 in Miami."
Johnny – who is one of the world’s highest paid actors – also admitted how he only got into acting by chance.
He revealed: "I needed to pay rent. Somebody said, ‘Why don’t you go meet an agent. My agent is with Nick Cage,’ so she sent me on an audition for something and I got it."
Johnny will be back performing with the band on July 1 in Pennsylvania as they embark on their US tour.
Meanwhile, early this month it was revealed Amber’s restraining order against Johnny had been extended.
The ‘Magic Mike XXL’ star filed for the court order against her estranged spouse at the end of May after filing for divorce from Johnny a few days earlier.
The restraining order – which was originally granted when Amber claimed Johnny threw an iPhone at her face – will stay in place now until August 15.
