A newly arrived governor (Alain Delon) finds his province under the control of the corrupt Colonel Huerta (Stanley Baker). To save the peasants from Huerta’s control, the governor pretends to be weak and indecisive hoping that Huerta will believe him to pose no threat.
Secretly, he is masqueraded as Zorro. Zorro joins Francisco the monk and the beautiful aristocrat Hortensia in their fight for justice against Huerta and his soldiers.
